There are thousands of different options when it comes to shop fittings. It is essential that you create the right atmosphere inside your store, and set up your displays in accordance with the type of products you are selling. How you display your items is crucial because display is just as important as holding them in the first place.

If you're looking for the best combination of presentation and security, then you should think about glass display cabinets, as they enable you to optimise the use of your retail space, and unable potential clients to get a good view of exactly what you are selling.

The objective, is to end up with an attractive retail space that encourages people to purchase. To do this properly, you need to assess your space and address the issues, pros and cons, of your own premises. Obviously, the first thing to take into consideration is the total floor space. You don't always need to maximise the amount of space you use for display. On the contrary, some high ticket items such as expensive watches and jewellery lend themselves to a more spacious shop layout. On the other side of the coin, would be a shop selling curios and knickknacks where products lend themselves to being stacked one on top of the other, filling every noock and cranny to create a cosy and intimate feel.

However you decide to lay out your retail space, you still want to give your customers enough room to get about store easily. If you are going for a cluttered look just be careful that you don't overdo it and even violate some health and safety regulations pertaining to retail spaces. If the space is to clutter the can actually discourage people to explore the shop.

You also need to think about where to position your cash register and customer service desk if you have one. Often, one of the best places to do this is right in the middle of the shop space. If you do it this way, you can actually surround the area with outward facing glass display cases. This gives you a second opportunity to make an upsell because anybody that is going to purchase from you have to go to this area to pay. You can strategically place items here that may attract a second purchase.

The particular industry you are in will have a big impact on how to set up display cases. But whatever niche you are in, it is good to go for variety in display. Even if you want to house everything inside display cases, you should opt for a variety of styles otherwise your shop could look monotonous and boring.
